Superduty fuel tank??
#2
If the OBS tank mount uses the same saddle style clamps to the frame it should be a failrly simple matter of relocating the straps for the proper spacing. I have no idea if the connector for the float is the same. You would probably also want to remove the mixing chamber from the Superduty tank.

yes I would definately hutch and harpoon the tank. also if the connectors and what not are different is no big deal. I will get a tank with the vehicle side plug also. and if the resistance values are different it pretty easy to change the sender and float.
I held a 28 gallon tank for a short bed superduty up and it would fit probably without much trouble. The fill neck is in the right place then it just becomes a matter of mounting and clearance to ground. I need to get my hands on a 38 gallon tank and see how that works. I think I can make it work. I will drop my tank one of these days once I get my hands on a 38 gallon tank.

I am going to do the Bronco tank in the rear ( I have it, someone gave me a bronco) and I am also going to use the spare carrier over my tailgate but will use the swing to bypass it when open. I will let you know how it works out. I too hate the tire in the bed. I could always mount it up front like the old chevys. HA

sneal if you need any help with the bronco tank let me know. i did it to my 95 it worked great but the spare tire is the big downside. I plan to get a bigger front tank then get a cable crank spare tire carrier to fab up on the rear so that I could actually get the spare up and down if I ever need to.

use a 96 bronco tank. it is 33 gallons and the fuel sender fits the hole. it is pretty easy. modifying the fuel pickup and level sender is probably the hardest part. other than you just need to extend the straps or the bolt if you have a skid plate holding the tank in. I used 3/8th threaded rod with nuts above and below each place it mounted. also the filler neck on the bronco tank is bigger. I got the correct size hose ( I will get the size for you later I some of the hose left over) then expanded a piece of exhuast pipe on one end to couple the 2 hoses together.
