2005 5.4 3v spark plug "separation"

Do the 2005 5.4 3v engines also have difficult to remove spark plugs? I see TSB 06-5-9 listed for MY2004 but not MY2005. I have an '05 SC 5.4 3v with 25k miles...I'm wondering if I should remove and re-install the plugs per this TSB then repeat every 15k miles to avoid problems.

Yes they have the same issue, they extended the TSB to 2005 F150, Super duty and Expedition/Navigator with 5.4L 3V engines.
Even with 25,000 miles I would follow the TSB but wait longer then the 5 minutes soak time, I would wait 30 minutes.

No they haven't yet. By the way the "Kroil" brand penetrating oil is the best one we found for this job. It does work, even in high mileage engines.

Well I just finished removing and re-installation of all plugs...ohboy44 is correct I think longer is better for soak of the penetrating oil, I waited min of 30 mins. Didn't break any and now that I've done it once I'll probably repeat at 50k. I applied a film of anti-sieze so we'll so if that helps. I used PB Blaster and it seemed to work well.

I guess I should do this on my 05 5.3 which now has 26k miles on it. What plugs are you guys replacing with? I thought I read somewhere that there was a new plug out from ford as a retrofit. Is there an aftermarket plug available? Also does anyone know where the Kroil oil can be purchased, I don't recall seeing it in any auto parts stores.

BP Blaster is a great product...I always use it prior to removing glo-plugs from my Ford Diesel.

I would also use the anit-sieze on (both) areas of the plug...can't hurt.

Do you know what TSB number that would be? Thanks.
