Rear 4-link suspension Question

There are several 4 bar kits available. The simplest kits bolt on in the front to existing frame holes. You have to remove the leaf springs/perches first. All of the 4 bar kits that I know of require the rear mounts to be welded on to the axle. Some of the panhard bars bolt on and some weld on. You'll probably need to remove one of the crossemembers to add a new one for the coilovers. If you can measure, clamp and weld well, you can install the kit - basically. Lowering the truck more and c notching the frame is another story. It takes time to do right. Your fabricating skills have to be good or you can weaken the frame if it's not done well. That's up to you to decide if you can pull it off. Installing the basic 4 bar suspension kit should be doable though easy enough.

Installing a 4 link and "C" notching the rear is really pretty simple to do, if you can weld its that much easier. The 4 link is practically a bolt on except for the brackets that need to be welded on your rear. Directions are very simple and they give you exact reference points to go by, the c notch is also pretty simple "IMO" especially if you buy the c notch kits. I bought my 4 link kit from tci and its the polished stainless steel kit, i haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet do to a frame off build up. I don't have any current pics of it installed but i do have the "c" notch pics (made them myself) in my gallery. I am also buying a rear sway bar kit right after new years.
