Got my XM radio for Xmas

It's a Delphi RoadyXT, but I am having trouble finding a place to put it. Any suggestions? I would like to have it in a place where my wife could change stations and when I do, I'd rather not have to look down so I'm thinking some place high.

Check for pics in my gallery... as I have my Pioneer Airware radio mounted in/on the ashtray bolt with a Panavise brand bracket... and connected to my head unit.

I Also Have The Roady Xm Radio, I Mounted It In The Empty Space Next To The Power Point On The Dash And Ran The Antenna Wire Behind The Dash, Thru The Rear Of The Glovebox, And Out The Rear Passenger Side Door. Works Great. Do All Excursion Radios Have The Dj Option?

My wifey paid for Best Buys basic install which has no refund option so they will do the install but I will upgrade it to the better install. Funny thing happened. I called XM to re-activate her XM in her Trailblazer and beings I was doing that they waved the activation fee and offered me a free Audiovox Xpress radio with 12mos prepaid service for $42 by changing the account to a family plan. Now I can add the XM to my X and my Grand Prix GT.

Depends on the year and which radio one has...

I have an '03 and the adpater people stated it would not work... but it does.

Check out the link below for an XM radio sight I frequent. This thread describes how to walk through the process if your radio will accept or not the PIE adpater and if you have the DJ function.

Keep in mind I have the in-dash 6-CD changer radio in my '03.

Good luck.... and let me know if this "trick" works for you or not.

Sorry it took so long to get back... Happy New Year.

Here is what I used to install my XM radio in my Excursion (pics in my gallery).

Radio Mount for ashtray screw location:
Panavise brand - #751072399

Swivel mount that connects to above bracket:
Panavise brand - #685-PM (Tipper with AMPS Plate)

PIE Brand Aux. Adapter
(For Roady XT, Audiovox Express, Pioneer Airware and other 5-volt radios)
Ford to XM 5-Volt/Aux Interface - Part #XM5-FRDN

Hey 3KID, I like those decals you put on your rear quarters, the 4x4 off roads. Where did you get those, dealer?
