My Brother picked up a new boat, Malibu Wakesetter VLX. He also bought me one of those rock-solid tow guards so it wouldn't get all chipped up from the gravel and debris we have on our roads in the winter. This is me in front of Wizzard Lake Marine in beautiful Calmar Alberta. Strangely, one of the largest Malibu dealerships in the world.

The tires on those trailers are hilarious. Z-rated sports-car tires. I looked at a few others on the lot, they were all that way. I guess they don't need the load rating for a boat, and they sure do look cooler on those fancy rims than any ST tire I've ever seen.

Just picked up this gem today. 2014 Forest River 272 RLIS. Pretty loaded even has a remote control for just about everything in it. I'll be using it for the week on Monday while on vacation.

My new to me dump trailer to replace my 24' gooseneck. Did two loads of scrap metal on the first day of spring...............Beat the snow with the first load, got beat by the snow on the second. Hopefully it all melts today!

My buddy sold his 65 I think Chevy and asked me to deliver it.

It was a little further forward than I would have liked but not too bad.

Today I picked up a new camper. Went from a 1977 24 foot to a 1991 30 foot. Pulled really nice and only paid 2500.

Thanks. We had the furnace and refrigerator running and everything seems to be good. Only things on the to do list are a new hose to fill the water tank, fix the handle on the fridge door, and get keys made for the door.

Just curious Brandon as it appears you tow some heavy loads. Do you use a wdh for the 30ft Jayco or drop it on the ball and go? Two couples we camp with don't use wdh's with their F150-24ft TT and F250-26ft TT. We're looking at a 30ft Jayco 27rls 700~ lbs tongue weight and I'm thinking of doing the same with our F250. We towed a 20ft TT years ago with wdh on a 94 F150 and found it towed much better with just a short shank standard ball mount with no wd.

Short answer. I will use the WD hitch since I already have it.

Long answer

Bringing it home I just dropped it on the ball. The truck actually sat pretty good and my spring package is the softer of the 2 that a f250 could have come with. When I take it up to the site it will be at most of the summer the bed of my truck will be full with material to build a deck and picnic table plus all the other gear for the summer. Other times the camper will be used I will have 1 or 2 motorcycles in the bed so with the extra weight I will use the WD hitch again. I have only ever used a WD hitch on a open car hauler and even empty it made it "settle down" on the bumpy roads around here.

Thanks for the reply Brandon. I find this stuff interesting. I'll no doubt try it both ways. I like the old short shank welded "Quality S" WDH. Works well with or without the bars attached.

This is what I tow. It's a small TT, 24 ft from bumper to ball, with GVWR of 4990#. This was taken under the lights at a RVPark operated by the Regional Fairgrounds at Forsyth County, NC.

Thanks. That's a pretty nice crew cab you've got. I have owned a few bumps and a few dents and always lusted after a crew cab but just never found one that wasn't trashed.
