I hear that Lousiville Assembly is going to have some down weeks across three shifts over the next several months due to lack of sales. A friend of mine and I do emergency equipment installs such as fire and police equipment on the side. We are working with a dealer who has ordered 170 F-350 Superduty 4x4 crewcabs that we waiting on to do the installs, but over the last 3 months, we have only received 8. The dealer says that they haven't been able to find out anything. I would think that if sales were that slow, that there would be no problem getting these trucks. Maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone out there have any idea what the problem might be?

Those trucks (SuperDuty's) actually come from the Ky truck plant, not the Louisville assembly plant. The Louisville assembly plant makes Sport Trac's and such.

I haven't heard of any slow downs at the KTP. There are a boat load of SD's out there.

 

Both KTP and LAP have been running shut downs. I haul parts for both of them, and its a real pain in the seat cushion for me.

I think they're both shut down again next week, because both of my regular routes have been cancelled.

Its supposed to end after the first of the year. BUT... the only thing you can know for sure with Ford, is they don't know what they're gonna do from one week to the next.

I'll be glad when they make up my mind for me. These short weeks are killing me.

 

I hear that. I work in Batavia, and we are getting slow too.
