CPS issues?

Do the OBS trucks have CPS issues like the 99+ do? I know it's a good idea to keep a spare with a 10mm socket available on them, but do the OBS have CPS issues too? A search for 'CPS' turned up nothing.

Yes, the OBS have CPS issues too, it may seem like the OBS trucks don't but that may be due 'there are fewer' of them compared to the New Body styles IMO. It's always a good idea to keep a spare for those emergencies.

Thanks for the confirmation, Cuda_jim.

I just bought a SC 1705 tuner (I wanted the code reader capability as well as power), does anyone know if the blue CPS works well with it or does it need the stock black one?

I believe the black one is stock, and the blue one changes the timing. The part number from the blue is 1807339C92 from International. Do a search, there have been a few threads on this recently.

Just dropped a blue CPS into my truck, works fine, I did not notice any improvements other than myh stock CPS was bad, no performance improvements, but it was cheaper, 100 bucks compared to 130, but I already have a chip advancing my timing

Yeah I got one for 50 off ebay, shipped on monday, but I needed my truck so now that is my spare, I read the posts for the last couple of months thinking that is a good idea to have one of those in case it goes bad, and then it did so I bought one on line for 50 and the blue one 100, cost me 50 bucks more than buying two off line, but now I won't go around without a spare. I am with you rednck, wast of money, go with what is cheapest blue or black I saw no difference
