Should I buy a newer truck?

I found a 2002 F250 PSD 4x4 CC that is the exactly what I would order if I could. It has only 60k on it. This is my dream truck.

I would have to sell my truck. There is nothing wrong with my truck other than 200k on the ODO. The thing drives perfect and I would take it on a long trip any day. It is paid for.

I could swing the money portion but boy would my wife be p!ssed!. It would not be the first time I upset her in our 15 years of marriage. I would have monthly payments.

Simply put should I buy it?

I like my truck but man.........to own this one would make me a happy camper.

About a year ago I bought an 01 super duty. It only had about 56k. It already needed a trans and ball joints. Both expensive, so check it out well. If you can afford it, I would go for it. Your wife will get over it. You might sleep on the sofa for a while, but it would be worth it. Better yet, tell her if she doesn't want to share the bed with you, she can have the sofa. Good luck with it.

Hate to be the nay sayer, but if you do the math pay yourself the truck payment hang tight another deal will come around and then you can pay cash, and just think of all the upgrades you will be able to get with the money you saved on interest.

I won't ever get rid of my truck. I'm the idiot that dropped the glowplug into the cylinder so I decided to look at another powerstroke CC 4x4. Drove one home that night next morning it was back at the dealership. I'm having the motor rebuilt and will drive it for another 10 yrs.

Now take into considerations I'm one of those ppl that really don't need a diesel I drive 7 miles to work and 7 miles home. I put 100 miles a week on my truck. I just can't see having a $500. car payment to justifiy another ride. I love my truck and my wife loves my truck. But if you can get it for under 22k and get 10k for yours then for 12k you move up 5 yrs and 140k less miles. I love getting compliments on my truck, theres only 10 7.3 cc 4x4 in this town so we all stand out.

You already have a great ride, I am just curious what your dream ridel looks like, cause it doesn't get much better than the one you got.

I like the NSB better than the OBS, so I would trade if you like the same. However, like bkcowboss said, I am waiting to pay cash, hence the reason I am driving a 94 not an 04.

Look this truck over good. Your old truck could out run this newer one two to one. I like the 02 but I don't know how to work on one is my main reason I have not bought one. The best of luck what ever you decide.

I am unsure what to do. I like not having a truck payment. I sure would like to have a new truck but I can do alot to mine with the 12-15 k I would spend to trade my truck out.

I wish I could just float through life hap-hazardly and not worry about the money.

The truck is 24k I could sell mine quickly for 10k.

The truck is Gray with Gray cloth interior. 3:73LS, power pedals and dual power seats. I would have to pay someone to look at it as it is in another state.

Also remember that maintnence costs will be higher on a newer truck. To replace the front wheel bearings will cost you over $600 vs mabye $100 on your truck.

Thumbs up

See my signature block for my dream truck.

It is paid for and the money I'm saving on the payment (or lack of payment) was used to buy my wife her dream car.

I'm beginning to save money in my "truck fund" for future modifications. The amount you'd spend on the new truck could do a huge amount of mods on your current truck.

If you can handle the payments, go for it. It is your dream truck so why not go for it while you're sleeping above the dirt. Once you start sleeping 6 feet under the dirt, it won't mean a thing.

I have my dream truck. Now it's time to plan the modifications and upgrades.
