I was changing spark plugs on a 2000 5.4L and needed to move the fuel rail to get to one COP and now I cannot figure out how to get the rail back on my injectors. Does it just sit on top of the injectors, and be held in place by the bolts or does it "plug" into the injectors? I have tried pushing and cannot seem to get it to plug in and somebody told me that it just sits snuggly on top of the injectors.

 

Go out and buy yourself some u joints for your sockets and you won't have to take the rails off. I also have a 2000 5.4 and I've taken off all eight coils with the fuel rails in place no problem.
