removing oil filter on 03 4.6 Crew

O.K. guys
Just picked up my new-to-me 03 4.6L 4x4 Super crew.
How are you supposed to get to the oil filter?????
On my 97 4.6 they remotely positioned the filter to the front bumper, This one is on the block directly above the 4x4 axle.
Also I am listing a topper for the crew on Ebay tonight, don't like it on the truck.
Thanks

I own a 2 wd and I lean over the front of the truck and loosen it from the top with a regular filter wrench, then lay in front of the truck a remove it with my hand. Sounds like to oil filter on my Bronco, you have to remove it from the top also. I usually sit on the fender and try to get the filter wrench in the tight space to loosen it, then throw it on ground from top or pull it up out of there.

there should be a little black plastic drain cover on the top of the diff. You can reach up over that and access the filter from the front...

Yep, I just reach up there with my oil filter wrench, loosen it, then remove it by had. The front differential has a nice plastic drain on it so the oil that runs out, runs down to your drain pan and not all over the truck.

Thats just it, do I come in from the front of the front diff? the rear side of the front diff? from the wheel well opening? Jack it up? remove the wheel?
There just aint no "clear shot" at this thing. On My '97 F-150 it is remotely located under the front bumper.
Thanks
