Axle seal 89 F250

Thanks Artic Y - that's kind of what I thought, I just have never worked on a 3/4 tons brakes before. I already have the wheel and the brake drum off, and it looked like I would have to pull the axle. Is removing and replacing the seal a big deal, or should I think about putting it back together and take it to a mechaic. I would like to do it myself, but I don't screw it up.Thanks for all your help.

Sometimes ya get lucky and can pry the seal out of the hub. But most times you will have to drive the inner race out with the seal. You can destroy the race if you don't use the right punch and know where the slots are to put the punch. I would recommend a repair manual and new bearing and brakes while it is apart for both sides. If one failed the rest won't be far behind.
