My 51 F-1 is minus all hood bracing--I guess someone in that pasture needed it. I located the front piece that fits across near radiator, but nothing for the fittings along both sides, about 2/3 back. What does this look like? Is it just threaded tension rods or what? Perhaps I can make some if I know what it should look like.

 

The only bracing the 48-52 hoods had were the front piece in the shape of the hood with the dowl in it and the piece right behind that that bolts in standing straight up. There are no rods to criss-cross at all. If you want, I can send you a copy of the page in the parts book showing everything. These hoods were kind of wobbly as the got older.

 

Thanks RE no other bracing was built into these hoods. You're right abouit them getting floppier with age. Like a lotta things, I guess.
