List your Location (like state, or city if you wish) and how much you pay for rent, and how many bedrooms. Also list how much your utilities are

I live in Mankato, MN, My rent is $560/month, and i have to pay electricity which is like $120 during the summer, and $45 during the winter.

Well, when I used to live in an apartment about 3 years ago it cost me $445 per month. That included electricity (electric baseboard heaters were used), cable TV and it was for a one bedroom unit that was split to a 2 bedroom. Wasn't a beautiful place but kept me warm.

-Matt

EDIT: Oh yeah. When I first got married (almost 5 years ago) we moved into a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. I only had to pay for cable and phone. It cost me $610 a month. Also, laundry facilites were provided.

i pay 490 a month, water included for a one bedroom, but its a nice apartment complex right in a great place in town, just minutes from everything and zero crime around. electric runs around 50-60 during the summer and slightly higher during the winter.

in college:

new apartment complex 600 a month 2 bedroom (had washer dryer in apt as well as dishwasher)

electric was 40 ish,
cable was 50ish
internet was 60ish

it seems that rent went up 10 or 20 bucks every year....... I counted all the apartments in the complex and figured that they brought in almost 100 grand a month in rent.

They built another complex last summer

Yeah, i've always wanted to calculate that. My apt complex is huge. 48 1 bedrooms =26,880, they also have 48 bigger size 1 bedrooms, 48 smaller 1 bedrooms, about 30 studio apartments, probably another 48 2 bedrooms, and 30 4 bedrooms. so yeah, theyre bringing in some $$$

An acceptable apartment around here is $1100+ a month, cheapo "projects" type apartments are around $800-$900 a month. . .an no yards or work areas!

Hence the reason I still live at home

An average 2br apartment here is about 500-600 + utilities. The higher-end apartments are about 1400 + util. Just saw an ad in the paper for a townhouse 10 mins away from downtown for 345k.

I've got a manufactured home in a local trailer park. Lot fees are 400/month. I make 15 bucks an hour as an entry level HVAC tech. I moved in about 8 months ago. Now, my sister is fed up with mom(long story) and wants to move in here and pay half of the lot fees.

Try living in the Bay Area where I'm from. Up in San Francisco, apartments START at $1200-1500, and go up from there. Even in other places around the bay, you're still lookin at starting rents in the neighborhood of $900 or so.

I'm going to ditch the whole apartment thing and get a travel trailer to live in. Cheap rent, you can just move if you want a different view, you have your hotel room behind you if you go on a trip, the neighbors are at least a little further away, and you get to hang out with the traveling folks who IMHO are some of the friendliest and most interesting folks to talk to.

hell yeah, I refused to rent. Found an old mobile on 3.6" acres, my payments are $364 a month. Property tax is $600/year. Even if you dont plan on living in a place forever, youll get some money back if you sell it, unlike rent where the money just goes into the owners pocket. Call it an investment.
