Post y block distributor

Hi

doing a yblock in Dad's 55 - want to use a distributor that has weights in addition to vacuum advance (think started using in '58) and maybe the Pertronix electronic guts

anybody done this or has something else worked well??

any ideas where to find a later distributor - have looked and had no luck

Thanks!!!!
Sheldon

1957-64 is the one you want.
Instead of using a troublesome sealed unit like Petronix why not just get an old style CD ignition?
There are usually a few on E-Bay in the $10-20 range. Several brands were available back in the 70's including Delta, Heathkit, Cragar, Mark 10, etc.
Unless you are going racing all of them will give great spark and plug life up past 5000 rpm with the Ford dizzie and points.
