Fuel heater ?

I have a 96 PS that I am going to replace GP's and GP relay... while changing the fuel filter I noticed that I do not have a fuel heater... Should I replace mine or is it really needed??

About half of the poeple with these trucks have unplugged the fuel heater because they shorted out and blew the fuse and keep the truck from starting. The heater is used to help melt the wax that forms in the fuel in winter when not using winterized fuel. I have never heard of anyone with it unplugged having a problem. If someone out there has had problems I'm sure they will let you know soon.
