There was a Ford assembly plant located in Milpitas, CA. The mall built at it's location is called, what else, The Great Mall. I used to work with a few guys that worked there previously. I know they assembled Mustangs there because they would gets calls from people restoring Mustangs on the proper assembly technics. Apparently they assembled trucks also.

A quick search on google turned up these pages with a little history. Couldn't locate any pictures.

Hey nice59fordf100,

Not trying to be a smarta$$ but I was wondering if you really meant

"I love my truck to much to nut show it off." or if you meant
"I love my truck to much to not show it off."

I realize that sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

I believe it was shut down in the early 1980s. I work for Lockheed Martin and we leased a part of it from '85 to about '89 I think for our tooling fab and machine shop. We also had one of the outlying building for all our material storage. I'll talk to some of the tooling guys on Monday.

If you search the San Jose Mercury News (local newspaper) website here...
http://www.bayarea.com/mld/bayarea/archives/
you can get articles back tho 1985. That might help a bit. I'll talk to my firends and see if we can remember when it shut down and when the GMotB opened. I've only been there once since the mall opened. Kinda strange walking around where cars and trucks were built. They used to have special over sized rail cars to deliver materials and parts and to pick up finished vehicles. I went there for a tour once when I was 5 or 6. Up the road a bit was the
GM plant. They made those "other cars". It's now the New United Motors Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) plant. Toyotas and Ch**vys made there.

thank you all very much for the above info, this helps me alot!!!!i have found a lot of info from the above info. but another question arose today. i was looking at the title to my truck today, and i want to find the information about the sale of my truck to my uncle. lol, i know this sounds selfish, but like i said before, i am a history buff. Ivealready contacted National City Ford where my uncle bought the truck, but nothing yet. And i have a question: the date on the title says 9/26/62. ?????? 62 is three years after 59. And i know for a fact that my uncle bought the truck brand new, because he traded in his 56 f100. and on the title, it has a body type model number:
ZB59PUSO
what does this mean? i will try and scan the title and get a picture of it, but it seems when i find an answer, and another question pops up

*and i meant to say "not to show off my truck," just a spelling error

Checkout this months issue of Mustangs and Fords magazine it has an article on the San Jose plant with some nice pictures, one is of an early 60's F100. It also gives some history on the plant.
