HOMELINK Garage Door Opener loses code
My built-in-sunvisor garage door opener buttons stopped working 3 times in less than a year, and had to be re-programmed. They work fine for a few months.
Not sure if it is defective, a garage door-opener problem, or power failure problem.
Door openers are basic SEARSC CRAFTSMAN.
aNYONE GOT THIS TROUBLE?

FYI: Never program your Homelink garage door opener during peak times...5-9AM, and 4-7PM. By programming during those times, the Homelink might pick up a signal from a neighbors garage door being opened and/or closed at the same time.
My garage door opened around 7AM by itself....I was mysified as to why, till one day, my neighbor two doors up came home while I was outside doing gardening. As her garage door opened, mine that was open...closed.
I reset the Homelink in the middle of the day...problem solved.

I have been "learning" the HOMELINK using the Sears remote, following the instructions in the manual. When the HOMELINK fails, my SEARS remotes still work fine.
I did not see anything about the HOMELINK having a battery and (wrongly?) assumed it was wired to the car battery. What kind of battery is in there and how does one get it out?

well the dealer changed the Homelink (entire sunvisor), and so far it works ok and retains the codes.
Has anyone programmed one of these to operate two garage doors at once from one Homelink button? I have a double garage, and wondered if it is possible to make the Homelink do LEFT RIGHT and BOTH doors using each of the three buttons respectively??
