Tilt Front End for '55 ford
Big job ahead of you. I don't know if you have seen many, but the steel ones I have seen all cut their fenders because of the fender curl by the door jam. the best ones (least amount of body rub from the fender/hood unit moving) had welded the fenders to the hood to make it a one piece unit. Added electric hydraulics to lift. Looks good when done right. I would appreciate it if you could share pictures as you progress.
good Luck

I can't offer any technical help just advice from a fiberglass install. You're gonna have to have hydraulics or electrics to lift it...or a helper. The ones I've seen have had the fenders and hoods seperated by spacers to maintain their look. The fenders will have to be cut...either down low to clear the cowl or up higher and the lower sections attached permenently to the cab.
I opted for fiberglass and it's much easier... I detailed that install... go to http://jniolon.clubfte.com and look in the left frame. it might give you some ideas on what 's involved...
good luck...
