I just logged 1,200 miles on the new truck and haven't had access to a trailer until now. I'll have a 2,000 lb. trailer that I can pull for about 200-300 miles this Sunday. Having followed the 1,000 mile break-in procedure would this help with the break-in under load or should I have done this sooner? Any response would be greatly appreciated.
As long as you follow the break in procedure listed in the diesel suppliment. And in my opinion change the oil now. Then do whatever you so desire. Pull or no pull is up to you.
Thanks for the response! I read the diesel supplement a few days ago; very interesting and well done. I am just hoping that getting some load on it this Sunday will be beneficial at this point. I'll be taking your advice on changing the oil, too.
I've found over the past 2 years on my 04 that premium fuel has the best fuel mileage and it just seems to run the best on it. In our area it runs about 2 cents more and is worth the money.

Ditto on following suppliment as to breakin directions. As with what Big said - most folks will tell you to get breakin oil out now. There is a tremendous amount of info. and good advise on this site - check out the Oil and Oil filter change threads. Best of luck.
