I finally received my build sheet letter from Ford Research Unit after 4 months. Have been trying to figure if my truck is a pace truck or free-wheelin' package, since it was originally silver (Color 'O') and some of the orange decals are underneath the repaint. The body code is 'PA4' and it has the door panels and seat with the silver & red accents. Additionally, it has the 10-spoke aluminum rims, blacked-out grille, and the holes for a factory roll bar are in the bed.

However, the build sheet info doesn't seem to reference any body graphics so I am still uncertain. Here is the pertinent info from the Ford build sheet letter:

Silver Metallic Exterior Color
Vinyl Interior Trim Scheme
Black Interior Trim
Sport Steering Wheel
Deluxe Seat Belts
Dual Black Swing Lock Mirrors
Handling Package
2.75 Rear Axle Ratio

The P in PA4 Body code is Coral Exterior.

A - black interior vinyl bench.


You needed a K where the A is

For the LGO interior (black/orange) knit bench.

Every Indy truck I've seen so far has the body code of PA4 and a color code of "O". I haven't seen a freewheeling package one so I don't know what codes they were. All the Indy trucks I've so far seen or know about have been built in March or April of '79.
