Homade,
This thread was started almost 2 years ago. At that time, George had been absent from the board "due to health issues." As you can read in the thread, lots of folks miss George.

I consider myself fortunate to have been a member of this forum when George was in the process of restoring and documenting "Earl", his '56 F-250. George has the ability to be warm, cordial, funny and a technical genius with the written word. He is just an all around good guy and is missed around here. If you've not visited "Earl's World" then you are in for a treat! Lots of great information and an entertaining diary of George's progress on Earl.

George, hope you can join us soon.

I agree I miss George and his Earls World website was how I found FTE. It looks like he last checked in August of 2008. Hopefully he will be back soon.

bed boards

Thanks Guys. This info will help. This site best for info on these trucks.
My truck is almost finished. I'm not pleased with my boards .Wood is good but the fit could be better. I think they were home made and not uniform in size.

Thanks Caddy 54 chuck

I know this thread is ancient, but I thought I owed it to all you guys to let you know how things are going. I'm still dealing with health problems, but I'm finally on the upswing. I've had a few weeks where I'm out of the house every day and able to do some simple, normal life activities. My short term memory has been severely affected, so it now takes me an hour to make a list of groceries or try to organize a day's activities. It's not so bad, I just take my time and do all the stuff my health care providers say I need to do to get better. There are folks who are a lot worse off than I am for sure.

I don't know what the doctors will say, but I'll try to get active again on the board sometime in the fall if I continue to improve. I may be able to get back to Earl then as well.

I can't tell you how much all the comments in this thread have meant to me during the last few years - especially on very bad days. I just want to thank each one of you for your thoughts and prayers. I have no doubt they played a part in getting me on the upswing.

And now, back to our regular program ...

George,

I am very pleased to hear that your health is improving! It sounds as if you have a positive attitude, that is very good. We have all missed your wit and wisdom and look forward to the day where you are up for regular postings.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, take care of yourself. If there is anything I can do please feel free to ask

Bobby

once you make that first cut it gets a WHOLE LOT easier!... and its repairable, as long as you don't go cuttin everything at once!!

woops.. replied to a 2 yr old post.. anyhow, glad to see you are on the upswing ..
