1952 Title

Ok all, I figured this would be a good place for me to start my search. I've got my truck home, my only problem is that she didn't have a title.. and I the guy didn't want to do a bill of sale. So now I am in search of a title. Just figured I'd try throwing out a request on here and see what turns up.. What I need is a title for a 1952 (maybe could use 1951) F-2 or an F-3 (4, 5?) and the VIN plate that is mounted on the door(?? or maybe glove box?). Maybe if someone has a truck they are parting out and you don't have the need for its title, I have a truck that needs one. I'm willing to pay a fair reasonable price. If you think you can help out a fellow ford lover to get his old girl on the road, drop me an Email at irondragon79(No Email Addresses In Posts!) . Thanks a bunch

Try BROADWAY TITLE CO. 1-800-464-3222 I have never used them but they advertise a lot. Or call your D.M.V. You may have to have your state patrol inspect after you get proper paper work. But I would be careful not to take truck to them until you have some type of paperwork to show that title is in process or you may not come with your truck. GOOD LUCK WRECK.

When I went to register my 55 at the DMV I had no plates, no title, and no vin #s visible. I had to write up my own bill of sale, and contact the CHP office. They had an officer come to my house, run the VIN #s and engine #s to make sure everything was on the up'n'up. The #'s were clean, and they riveted new vin #'s to my truck. The only drawback to this is every year I have to register my 55 as a "new" vehicle, which means about $120. if you need more info message me or e-mail.

Hope this helps!

Hi ! Try your local state larger swap meets. Don't know what state your from but here in Texas,I have found lots of people selling titles, plates, and etc. For lots of diffrent year trucks and cars. Besides our large national swap meets, our local town swap meets always have people with boxes of titles and licence plates from 02 thru the 70s. Good Luck !

If you're planning on spending alot of time getting the truck road-ready, I'd try and get a title that has the original VIN on it. When we got our '41, we also got the original title with it and Who in their right mind would want to part with that. Here in Fla. if you let them know you have a title, they take and destroy it after they transfer the new title into your name.

Anyway, I went down to the DMV and asked how to go about getting a title for a truck that has never been titled (it was a Farm Truck). They wanted to know what state it came from and then she checked this huge book to see the license/title laws in North Dakota. Seems that N.D. didn't require licensing of farm trucks of any kind prior to 1978. Since they had no way of checking any past titling, she gave me all of the forms required by the State of FL which included having either a notary, DMV employee, or an officer of the law physically see the VIN # on the frame and sign off on the DMV's forms. About 3 months later, we received our new title. It's very time consuming, but well worth having the title match the frame.

Hope this helps or at least gives you some ideas.

I had to do somethign similar to Carlene. I bought a truck that had been instorage for 15 years and had no title for it, all I found were registration cards going back to '70. I had to take it down to the DMV, have them verify the VIN for it and then they issued new plates and a new title for it. A lot of paperwork has to be filed, such as statement of facts, we had to send a registered letter trying to find the last owner, and so on. But overall it's not too bad.
