[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Mar-02 AT 06:33 PM (EST)]IF YOU WANT POWER WINDOWS ON YOUR 53 TO 55 ON THE CHEAP. HERE IS HOW IT CAN BE DONE. GET A RIGHT AND LEFT WINDOW MOTOR FROM JUST ABOUT ANY FORD EVER MADE I GOT MINE FROM A LINCOLN.REMOVE WINDOW REGULATORS FROM TRUCK. REMOVE HAND CRANK GEAR.THE GEAR ON THIS IS THE SAME AS GEAR ON
POWER WINDOW MOTOR. HERE IS THE TRICKY PART. MAKE A BRACKET TO HOLD GEAR ON MOTOR IN MESH WITH GEAR ON REGULATOR.THE POSITION OF THE MOTOR IS CRITICAL. AS IT WILL ONLY FIT BACK IN THE DOOR IF IT IS TURNED JUST RIGHT.IT WILL TAKE SOME TRIAL AND ERROR TO GET IT RIGHT.THE MOTOR WILL END UP CLOSE TO HOROZINTAL UNDER THE VENT WINDOW.THIS MAY WORK ON OTHER YEARS BUT I HAVE NOT TRIED IT.IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED I COULD SEND A PICTURE OF ONE THAT IS DONE. AS ONE OF THE TRUCKS I DID THIS TO IS APART RIGHT NOW.
