My overhead Compass is not working. I have a 2003 Supercrew Lariat with moonroof.

For a while it was going on and off, then would say "var cal" when I would turn the key on. Now it does not come on at all.

I do not know how to take the housing apart to check the connections, and did not find a fuse that is listed for the compass.

Does anyone know how this comes apart? or what usually causes this to happen and common fixes for this issue?

It is fairly common for the circuit board to develop cracks, especially if the vehicle is exposed to temperature extremes. I happen to be in the circuit board business and so, when this happened to me, I figured I could repair it. But they're made in Asia and very cheaply. After three tries, I bought a replacement console on eBay and dropped the board in mine. That way you can also see how the console is attached.
