Power Seat Option for E350?

I was looking at a 2006 E350 as the family van, but my wife would like a power driver's seat, to get her up a little higher. Is there anywhere to buy an aftermarket power seat that fits these vans? even just a kit to raise the regular seat two inches would work.

So I found THIS on eBay, it's a power seat base just for the E-Series vans, but the catch is that it won't work with the factory seat. What type of "aftermarket" seat does it need I wonder?

did you check the dealer? I have a 2004 E350 15-pass with the driver power seat option... I would think they are 100% compatible. of course the local wrecking yard would probably be happy to sell you one as well.

I called the dealer, he said they don't have the complete unit, only the parts, so I'd have to order it all separately and put it together. It was close to 5 PM so he may have just been trying to get off the phone...

I found a power seat for $185, but I have a question about the adjustment. Does it raise up from standard height, or just back and forth? I need a couple inches height above stock.

The seat adjusts every way possible. The front rocker controls front tilt up and down, the rear rocker controls rear tilt up and down and the middle joy stick controlls forward to backward movement as well as entire seat up and down. The rear back rest also has a manual lever to adjust vertical back rest and there is also a manual lumbar dial on the opposite side of the seat to adjust lumbar support. excellent seat, the only thing it is missing is heat...

My wife has the same problem, likes to adjust it high and closer to the steering wheel. should be no problem for your wife.

FWIW: The only difference between Ford and aftermarket seats are the bolt holes for the slide adjusters where they attach to the platform/pedestal. If you swap the slide adjusters there are no issues. I know this from doing junk yard hunting and swaps.

The features you may find on a junk yard seat will vary depending on the year model that the seat came from. My '94 with factory electric seats has electricaly adjusted lumbar as well. The older seats also had two armrest instead of just one. I don't know what year the changes to the seat were made. Ford has a bad habbit of downgrading product lines the longer they continue to make them.

any recommendations where I can get a seat for my E350?
The armrest broke off and I don’t want to try to weld it back on so I figured I’d just get another seat

Try posting WHAT you're working on and that might prove helpful! Is this a factory seat or some aftermarket conversion seat? Which side?

The factory seats arm rests are often times completely replaceable.

The factory power seat tracks are north of 1000.00 anyway new
Just go get one out of a Taurus or Crown Vic at the wrecking yard and have someone mind meld it to your van
It will most likely bolt right in and you will have to wire it is all
Use a fuse link and a 30 amp maxi fuse for circuit protection
Good luck

The power seat tracks have 3 motors in them
Back in the day (the 90's) if one motor failed you had to buy a whole new seat track assembly
Glad to hear they offer individual parts now
