65 F-250 4 door ?? How rare is it ??

They are out there but yep not everywhere. Lots where oil crew vehicles and the like. Ordered by Corp by the fleet. There is someone here with one under resto.. name escapes me.. but they had an interesting thread on it. Someone in Quebec or something had come across one.. ? so yeah if it was in decent shape..might be a cool project..resale $$ ??? probably low until restored.

I have a '66 under restoration. Have come across 70 or so around the country in the last few years through my search to find one and subsequent browsing of the message boards.
A lot of folks seem to think they are interesting, but basically they're not worth much. If you try to resurrect it from the yard, do it because you REALLY want a four-door Slick, not because you expect to make any money out of it. The cost of restoring it will likely be far more than the initial acquisition cost of the truck/cab.
If you happen to get back to the yard, please snap a picture if you can, and post it to your gallery or send it to me care of FTE. The VIN number and other data plate info is sometimes revealing as well, jot it down if you have a pen.
Where abouts in the country are you located?

Well, it's a shame that you can't buy the cab or at least snap a picture. Grab the VIN plate or get the info if you can. From that you can tell if this is an original crew cab or if it is an aftermarket conversion.
If the truck is a factory crew cab and if you were to snag anything, the rear doors with hinges would be the single-most valuable thing that you could grab. I would pay you the Pick-n-Pull cost, plus transport (or I would come and get them), plus whatever you think is reasonable for your "trouble cost", just so I could have a spare set.
But you probably could find someone who would pay more than me; if you wanted to sell them to someone else, I wouldn't hold a grudge.
My rear doors are currently in a state of destruction since the outer skins were hammered from previous abuse and I have reversed the hinges so that they will open "suicide" style. If I ever wanted to consider a switch back to regular, I would be hosed.
Let me know what you find out.

The first one I saw was near The Needles in the Black Hills, South Dakota in 1989...I almost drove off the road I was so amazed...it was Wimbleton White...I have a 35mm color print of it.
Several years ago, I saw one parked near the American Airlines facility off World Way West at LAX. Because it was dark blue...I assumed it might have belonged to AA at one time.
Care to share where the one in the yard is in SoCal? All I want is pictures...honest. I'm curious what the DSO number is, too.
I'd be willing to help out the fellow member in NorCal acquire anything also.
There's a recent photo of one in a post here...I saw it several days ago...I'll see if I can find the link.
