Heated Mirrors on a F150

Does anyone know if you can easily install heated, power mirrors on a 2003 truck that came from the factory with just power mirrors? Does it need a switch or does it work off of a thermostat? Thanks in advance & great site! Ed

The wiring should be in the door if not in the plug, and if they are anything like the SD mirrors they are always on when the truck is.

THe wiring is not in the door. Heated mirrors were not offered on 97-03 F-150's. 04 was first year. It's not as easy to do as you'd think. If you go the post asking about Expedition mirrors on a F-150, I laid out the best or correct way to do it there. You basically have to take 4 mirrors to make 2. I am doing it on my 03 F-150 reg cab right now. I used the expedition mirrors with heat and signals. My truck will look like a factory installation when it's done. Right now I am working on getting a timer module so the mirrors don't stat on all the time. Read it and you'll see how to do it.

Can you post pics or give a parts list? I'd love to do this, and what harnesses or plugs to buy? If nothing else, a pic of the replaced dash panel with the switch.

Thanks!

hey bmccl in the process of changing bases of expy mirrors to a 97 f150. Found if you pull the wires out of the swivel part then take a hose clamp put it around the tabs tight then take a heavy putty knife/scraper and pry up you can get the base off if your carefull.
