Hey there guys. I have a 95 250 and I want to make it 4x4 and I was wondering if a 2000 f-350 4x4 donor would work? thanks, desy

it won't work easily, the spring perches are not the same width and then you would also have to run 2 different wheels unless you changed the rear axle too. it will be much simpler to get the same body style donor truck

One more try - my last reply wouldn't take for some reason.

If you do a search for "Ultimate SAS project source" you will find a lot of info for Dana 44/60 swaps with either coil or leaf springs. Most of those projects have custom built spring perches, and a lot of them end up being low enough to cause front driveshaft pinion angle problems.

Also, like 96P said, you may end up with two different wheel types if you are not careful. I don't know when Ford switched from lug-centric to hub-centric wheels, but Ido know that my 97 is hub centric.

Good luck and keep us posted, I am interested in the same project.

i'm 99% sure the 99+ are still hub-centric, however the difference in wheels is because 97 and earlier f-series lug pattern is 8 on 6.5" where 99 and up is 8 on 170mm. i believe 99+ vans retained the 8 on 6.5" lug pattern but i'm not sure if they still do.
