Question is it worth the price?

i've come across a 94 f350 crew cab lwb with a 7.3 L PS. it has 227,000 miles on it. the body looks to be in really good shape. The guy is asking 5200 dollars for it. oh it's a 4x2 automatic tranny. I haven't driven it yet so i don't know if the engine has any problems . does this sound like a good price?

The trans would be my first concern. Another one will cost you anywhere from$2,000 to $3,500. Depends on what you want.

Do you know how well the truck was serviced?

With the Auto tranny it not gonna be a powerstroke. Must be a IDI. Sounds a bit high for a 2wd truck with that many miles. my 2cts.

I'm not sure I understand the connection with the auto tranny and an IDI??

I have a 90 IDI, a 96 and a 97 PSD, all with the same E4OD trans. And they all cost me a lot to rebuild.

The 94.5 powerstrokes only came with a 5spd manual tranny. It wasen't till the 95 model year that the powerstroke had the E4OD behind it.

Now I understand. Thanks for the info. So if it is a 94 it has to be an IDI. What was the power difference between a 94 IDI and a 94 PSD?

The 94 turbo idi's were rated @180 or 190 hp. The 94 PSD was 215hp. My opinion is that the idi turbo was rated a little low to help the hype of the powerstroke. My dad has a 94 idi turbo and I have a 94 powerstroke and stock their is not alot of power difference. Though with the right mods... the powerstroke is capable of alot more power than a idi .

You're right. It does sound low. I think my 90 non turbo was rated about 180 or 185.
