data plate??

I am in need of data plate deciphering. Two 1965 Econolines 1 van 1 pu.
Van Plate reads:E14JH589981 (2nd Line) 090 M E140 D89 4A 04 (3rd line) 3600 129 4000 72

P/U Plate: E10TH701160 (2nd line) 090 3 E100 D87 A 031 (3rd line) 3600 85 3800 73

Basically I understand WBase 090inches GVW 3600, HP 85/129 ,RPM3800/4000 The rest remains a mystery. Tried to figure these out through Jim Bares other answers to same questions but admit I'm lost. Pickup is 5 window chrome bumpers and spears w/stainless ,poppy red and a blast to drive. Van is a parts piece with padded dash ,automatic trans, slide out side step and 1 extra knob on dash where the lighter should be. Lighter is next to heater controls.

Thanks for any help you might pass on. Great site great rigs.

Definately helps a bunch. Transmissions seem inverted though. P/U is a 3spd ,van is an auto. I may have swapped numbers/alpha. Glad to know there is a 9" in the mix. Wasn't sure about the 7.25. Never really noted that diff. Thanks to all!!

the 3 denotes Mustang poppy red. That would go with the spring special. 251.00of free options!!! Have the flier from Ford dealer that explains what this was about. Included chrome bumpers,falcon hubcaps,chrome and stainless side spears.poppy red or wimbeldon white paint. And for 4.00 more mustang lower body stripes from 3m.

j-md was correct on his decode! one thing tho, the extra letter on the trans code and some of the eqipment means the van is probably a travel wagon or other conversion.

the pickup IS a spring special! should either have side trim or the holes where it used to be. heres the decode for it.

E10 = Econoline pickup
T = 170 engine
H = Lorain Ohio assembly plant
701160 = June 1965 serial number (1965 model)
090 = wheelbase
3 = Poppy Red paint
E100 = 1/2 ton pickup model
D = beige custom interior (custom equipment
package)
87 = pickup body style
A = 3 speed transmission
031 = 3.50:1 light duty axle
3600 = 1/2 ton GVW
85 at 3800 = certified net HP at RPM
73 = Salt Lake City sales district

thanks to all. Your right the manual will be a help. Did some Xmas shopping today and that was first on the list. The van will be a donor for a number of items. Mostly sheetmetal. The floors haven"t even been scratched and the rest is virtually rust free. I"ve located another "spring special" that needs Mechanics. So mine will be given an update to the drivetrain and interior. The other will be a stock piece. By the way the extra knob on the dash turned out to be 4-way flashers.

They have saved me thousands in aggravation alone ...

On passenger cars VIN...

...A "T" engine is a 200 Six

Should be the same for Econolines.

This is from memory...but I believe it's correct.
