What's everyone doing for Turkey Day?

I have the dubious honor of travelling to Fowler for the Holiday.
6 hour trip with 5 of us crammed into the Suby, 2 late teen punk rocker wannabee males, 1 early teen female professor of life, the wife and me.

I'm predicting 3 pitstops, 1 food stop if not integrated into a pit stop, 6 hours of a headache and numerous requests for the remaining time to arrival punctuated by said professor complaining of someone farting, pinching or just plain being annoying.

Anybody else gonna have this much fun???

Oh yeah,
WILLYB you have a PM.

Rich

The past few years we've gathered the troops for a miserable ride to the Bay Area, worse traffic than a bad commute day.

This year we're at home, my folks will make ot over and weve invited friends, unsure if they'll show yet, but itll be nice not to have to go anywhere.

Holiday traffic's not a problem for me...not going anywhere or doing anything. I'll probably heat up a Swanson frozen turkey dinner or the like and see what's on the tube if I don't have anything interesting to watch from Netflix. Heck, I may even work Thursday just to get double the pay, since it's a paid holiday...if there's anything that needs doing there. If not, I'll try and get some more work done on the Ranger.

We have had fog the last couple of days - heavy at times. But don't worry, if it gets too heavy the cops will escort you down 99.

There has only been a few accidents - in one a big rig hit a car stopped along side the 99 Freeway and in another someone ran into the back of a backhoe on a trailer. It is kind of neat, move too slow and the trucks hit you, move too fast and you hit the trucks. I just love this time of year!

Good Luck!

I have to work on "T"-day. Arrrrg. Oh well, someone's gotta do it. That's ok though. It'll be a slow day, eating fish tacos and crab legs (fingures crossed). Of course me and the guys will also be indulging in some fuutbole! But no beer while on duty. Might have to jump up and go scrape some poor drunk off the highway. Yuck. Like I said, someone's gotta do it.
You all have a safe and happy day with your families. Be carefull on the roads, and please don't drink and drive.
There's LOTS to be thankfull for! Happy Thanksgiving, T

I hate to rain on the thread but, I am in the first stages of devorce(third week) and I will not be with my family this year for the first time in my life. I will miss my sons the most.
On a lighter note a co-worker has invited me to their thanksgiving and since I know the whole family I will be spending it there with them. So I will be eating turkey, I just won't be with my sons.

Jon,

It's never a good time to go through that, and it has to be compounded by the 'Seasons.

Holler if you need a hand or a cold beer (I promise not to have any Bud in the fridge)

Jon,
I sincerely echo what 3Mike has posted. During my divorce, I had to endure the holidays as well. It is a hard time to make that kind of adjustment. Don't hesitate to reach out to friends and family for help. That includes your friends/Enthusiast family here on FTE.
You're not alone in this. There are others who have been there and understand.
Remember that I will be there if you need a buddy to have a beer with or just want someone to talk with.
I hope all works out well for you. Keep the faith. IT WILL GET BETTER. Don't look like it right now, but trust me, it will.

That suks JD.

Make the best of the holidaze and utilize whatever suport system you have.
I have a coworker in a similar situation, he's traveling today toward renewing some neglected contacts and doing the best he can.

We will wave and send a good wish when we go through Modesto later today.

Happy Holidaze!

I just got home from the store, found a nice Banquet frozen turkey dinner that looked better than the Swanson's so I'm all set for tomorrow. I can't wait...

Happy Turkey Day, everyone!
