jack the rear up off the ground, put the truck in neutral, disengage the parking brake and make sure the wheels are chocked. sit under the truck and turn the driveshaft so the tires turn. count about how many times it takes the driveshaft to turn to make 1 revolution of the tires. this will give you a rough indication, but usually close enough. if it goes about 3.5 times then you've got 3.55's. if about 4 times, you've got 4.10's. if almost 6 times then you've got 5.88's (extremely unlikely, but its an example)
