Seat replacement on a 2000 F150
The front seats on my F150 are 60 40 cloth. So, I bought the leather nterior out of a 2003 F150 Lariat Supercab that will bolt right into my 2000. The only difference being the 2003 incorporates the seat belt retractors in the seat instead of the belts hanging from the header as on my 2000. I plan on removing the belts as they came with my truck and using the 2003 seatbelts.
The other main difference is on the 2003 the seat belts use a pre tensioner in the air bag circuit. I have ordered the electrical manual but have not received it yet so here is the question.
Will anything be harmed by not having the pre tensioner hooked into the air bag circuit and using them as they are static.
Or does the 2000 model have the capability to incorporate the tensioner in the airbag circuit and the module will handle the chore? Any suggestions and has anyone done the seat swap like I propose? Thanks
