My goal here is to build an engine with differances like milled heads, domed pistons n maybe a high lift cam, ported heads n whatever else. I'm doin this because i want to learn when and how you do certain things you produce a certain amount of horsepower 'n torque for performance. So I thought I would start with one of my 460 engines I have.

well just a thought but i would port the heads or at lease gasket match them and since the heads are about 96 cc's you can run a dome look at keith black's part# kb401 they should put you at around 10-5 or so and they are cheap but monster is right since you are looking at pistons just get some to fit the heads if you are looking into dome pistons be careful cause they do make them for fords but alot of the time you will have to get them macheined to work i know the keith blacks will work with out any maching as long as you dont go over a 600 lift cam and 77cc heads also your d3 heads are poultion heads one easy thing you can do is block the pollution holes in the exaust ports but tapping a 5/16 hole and cutting a bolt at the head so it will snap off then grind it smooth be shure not to do any grinding on the bottom side of the exaust ports

I think the first thing to do is get a plan. Milling heads pluging that and cuting hear will not get you much till you have a plan. What are your goals for this engin? on or off road, sreet or strip, pump gas or racing fule? all thease things need to be factored in to make good decisons on what compreson what cam what intake ect.
Good luck
Bill
