Sunday, March 25th

I am planning to be there as well. Between now and then I will take a look to see what's available and as the time nears will give exact directions.

Per John Pen's request I am bumping this thread so we can start moving on final plans. I should be able to devote some more time to this later this week as I am buried at work right now.

Work is killing me lately too. 2 hours of sleep this morning... and expecting 2 more tomorrow morning... fun.

Other than the 1/2 inch of ice on my truck all week... things are still looking good for me too.

Letchworth St. Pk. G2G Update

Finally got some time today to take a drive to the Park. There is much more open now than in the past. Week days it is open and entry is free via the Portageville (south) entrance or the Castile entrance

Week-ends and holidays they charge the usual $6.00 per vehicle and entry to the south end is via the Castile entrance only. The fee is collected from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you enter before 9am you are good for the day without paying at all.

Trailside Lodge is open to the public on week-ends and not reservable since it serves the tubing hill and sleigh ride folks.

The South Highbanks Shelter is reservable anytime (half for $45). It is at the Mt. Morris (north) end of the Park.

If there is still snow on the ground on Sunday, March 26, 2007, there will be tubing and it could be crowded there. If so, there are several other areas we could gather at.

If there are further questions or need for directions, let me know here or by e-mail.

"MuddyAxles", aka "dallbright"

Dave

I had a problem with my F150 when I was home on leave in NY. Thought I might find someone with similiar problem in the Avon area.

Start a thread in this chapter. These guys here are great but if we get further OT, then we'll get beaten.

Dave - thanks for scoping things out.

I guess we should start finalizing this. So what time does everyone want to meet on March 25th and where in the park? Dave posted some great information. If we need him to find a specific spot post it up. Right now it looks like we have the following attending:

Ronin007 (me )
MuddyAxles (Dave)
John Pen
Jack_99V10
bterry (Barr)
tiny1 (Neil)
dcf4x4 (Dan)
gomersinner

That is eight of us besides anyone else you are bringing with you. We should start figuring out food, activities, and make sure we are near bathrooms. So post your ideas and get other members to attend.

1tiredjarhead - feel free to post a separate thread on your issue with your F-150. Other members would notice it faster than buried in this thread.

Trailside Lodge, if we choose that, has all the amenities. If there is snow, we'll have to share with the spuds (you know, the tubers? Yeh, it's , I know!)).

Well if the "spuds" get in the way we can always do a monster truck mash on them!!

I guess I want to see what others have in mind. John Pen had PMed me about bring his motorhome down and getting either a cabin or campsite. It wasn't a definite, just a thought he had.

So what are people's thoughts?? Food, activities, time, and location in the park are still up for suggestions. John Pen are you still planning on doing the pulled pork? Barr are you going to bring the "spud" gun that we can shoot at the "spuds" if they get in the way???

Why would beer pong be out? Only the losers would have a hard time getting home

I kid... I kid...

I may be bringing a handful of guys/gals with me...
