Cheapest way to get M3 player to play over truck's speakers?

I know there are head units out there that take a MP3 player, but I'm wondering if there's any other method to push what's on an MP3 player across the truck's system? (say, something like the cd-changers that hook-up at the antenna connection?)

If not, what's a cheap head unit that would work with an MP3 player?

Thanks!

I use a cassete tape adaptor. If yours has a cassete tape player.

Just pick up a cheap FM modulator. They can be had for under 10 bucks but you get what you pay for. Direct connect is the best but fm is easiet and cheapest without a tape deck. If you have the tape deck see above.

No tape deck, and I'm looking for a inexpensive direct connect (instead of a modulator) of some sort.

The cd players that connec to the antenna are using modulator tech as well, maybe they are a little better because they are connecting right at the antenna but they're still modulators. You should be able to pick up a Pioneer or JVC head unit for $100.00 to $150.00 that will play mp3 cd's, that's the way I'd go.

Awesome. Remembering I shouldn't even be buying a head unit, anyone want to suggest a specific cheapie head unit (make/model)?

My last aftermarket head unit was a Pioneer (middle-range), and I liked it a lot.

I use an FM transmitter/charger for my iPod that I picked up for $45 and am very happy with it. Plugs into the cigarette lighter on one end and the iPod on the other, and works fine for my purposes.

Great sound quality? Probably not, but then my speakers are the cheapy factory ones, my truck isn't all that quiet, and my hearing isn't that great. I can't see spending the money for anything better, for me. You just have to decide how expensive your hearing is.

*Cassette adapter is probably the way to go if you have a tape deck, though.

BTW, there isnt one CD player that hooks up to a antenna, they all use RCA, or fm modulation.

Cheapest new headunit's gonna run about $100... I'll be getting a pioneer 2800 soon. stick with a good brand name... Pioneere, alpine, kenwood, jensen, jvc... stay away from dual, pile, awia... SONY... stay away from that crap

Could go used though, save some $$
