After reading the post on the 51 the guy is asking $900 for this is probly way out of line. Just got back from looking at a 56. 6 with 4 speed runs and drives ok. No cancer that i could find. Needs paint. has surface rust. V8 grill. Always been a 6 banger though. Bucket seats. all else original. He is asking $4000 I offered $2500. No sale he said. It will rust where she sits if I can't get $4000 for it. It is right next door so shipping it up to alaska at a cost of around a grand is a plus. But man that seems like way to much money. For a truck that I wolud do a frame off resto. Stroked Y-block power disks and power steering. Ect.
Please any input would be a big help. Thanks Tricky

He's asking way too much, in my opinion. Ask him to cover it so you don't have to watch it rust.

If it`s that close by and shipping is that expensive I would have another look at it. Too bad the seller is so set on the price as it`s maybe a bit high. It won`t hurt to wait for a while but then it may sell in the mean time.

Guy I know has a 66 Galaxie, 6 cyl and auto, decent shape but just an old car. A survivor. He wants $6000 for it. He'll let it rot in the garage before he sells it for less. I asked how he arrived at 6 grand. He saw one just like it on Barrett Jackson.....Sounds like your guy and mine saw the same show.

For 4K you could get a good solid body and chassis in the lower states and ship it to AK and have a little left for some frosties to celebrate with. I'd offer 3K and tell him that's the most it's worth to you, so if he changes his mind to let you know and you may still be interested if you haven't located another by then. Let him look at 3K sitting there for a while. It's one thing looking at it when there is no buyer wanting it and another when it has $$$ signs all over it.

Yep thats good advice AXracer I will do just that. The thing im thinking is he is an illegal alian. No green card or anything. He is raising and relesing rabbits by the hundreds in the middle of town and as rabbits are not a critter that is suppost to be in the wild here as we have none. The Troopers are waiting for the roads to clear to come pay him a visit as he has been turned in for killing his neighbors pets. Dogs and cats love pesky wabbits. But so do the wolves and we have been having a lot of them around sence he started releasing them.

Sounds like he'll be getting deported or going to jail soon. You might want to start getting chummy with local law enforcement... "So, Rabbit Boy is gone now, what's going to happen to that old rust bucket? County property you say? Well, I'll give you $800 for it..."

Well, maybe he'll need bond money. Don't believe for a minute you can do a real frame-off resto for $4k tho! There are plenty of us on here who thought the same thing. For $1,000 difference, are you really willing to have to buy somehting else, sight unseen, and pay to have it shipped? Weigh your options!

Rust-free is mighty rare!

Yes you are so right. I'll go take a better look at it tomarrow. Offer 3k. And wait to see what the Fish and Wabbit Troopers do. Already thinking how sweet she would sound with one of Dennis Carpender's mild strokers in her.
