Trans Slip

My 2001 F150 5.4 4R70W/AOD transmission has recently begun slipping out of gear/ not re-engaging after a stop. It seems only to do this when I'm in the OverDrive defeat mode (regardless if I'm towing anything or not). It will rev a bit as if in neutral for a second or two, then dump into gear and go like normal. I don't really notice anything else weird happening with the trans, seems to shift and hold normal at all other times. I'm not getting the flashing OD OFF("check trans") light which I have in the past requiring a $200 sensor replacement. Anybody ever heard of something like this on this transmission?

Make sure you check the fluid level.

Hey there I am new to the site. I am having the same problem with my f150 4.2 auto. slips going into OD. Once in it seems to be ok. It has 217,000 miles other than this works fine. I have had the pan dropped and filter changed. Any ideas where to look would be appreciated. I know I probably should have asked before having the pan dropped and changing the filter.
