Click on the on the post. The default is approve of the post. Leave a comment to award more points. The points awarded are based on a number of factors in a "secret" formula.

Question Why is it so low key . . .

Thanks, how is someone suppose to know

A. About the points in general
B. How, Why, & Where to award them

Not a real clear system but it makes sense for FTE'rs.

Unhappy Directed here.

I was sent a PM from an admin directing me here so I posted my ? here.

No offense but I feel this is one piece of how this site works that very few folks get, know about or understand. You really have to stumble across this to even figure out what it is, let alone how to give them.

Please put it where you feel it belongs and newer people will learn about the process and use it. I have been on the site since July and have seen this, gotten a few point but had no idea how to do it. Hope others don't feel I don't appreciate them giving me points but I had no idea how to do it until now.

Note those that responed here have 1,000's of posts . . .

There are already some explanations in the "Reputation titled threads" in the User feedback & GC forum.

I just thought it was strange that this topic and thread was in this forum as they don't match.

I don't think search is working at present.

ps: You could have just asked me about how the rep system works privately.

Wink K . . .

I would have but this is the 1st time I have come across you on the site. I came across my own "points" and started wondering what they were so started digging.

I think it was The Texas Hammer, recently a Cheby convert, that directed me here.

Hey, have agreat T-Day . . .

Most forum software has some sort of system like this. Move your cursor around and click on things to see what they do.

I agree, it is not posted anywhere in plain site....you have to earn the secret code..... It really is just a fun thing but, it does represent how others feel about you and your input.

Personally, I never give negative points. By the time someone deserves that from me I have usually already demonstrated how I feel about them...
