I noticed on my 06 sc 250 a lense on the inside of the front doors that doesn't light up when you open a door.I pulled the lense out thinkin its just a reflector but there was a hole that looked like it would house a light harness .I noticed on my friends 250 that his lights up.Anyone have an idea on this one?.. btw im not sure of his year 250 i think its a 2000

 

around '03 or '04 Ford deleted a bunch of small items to save bucks. Glove box light, underhood blanket, etc. You can add the lights yourself.

 

I have a '99 F350 SD and all four door have operational lights.

 

MY 2001 F-350 SRW 4X4 CC SB DIESEL ONLY HAS THE REFLECTOR AND NO LIGHTS IN THE DOOR PANEL.

MY FRIENDS 2001 F-250 SRW 4X4 CC SB V-10 HAS THE LIGHTS IN ALL 4 OF HIS DOOR PANELS. WTF!!! GO FIGURE??????????????

 

factory model differences and changes and a later full delete of the lights. by the way duck keep it clean if fte and caps means screaming out. we don't use either

 

I have a 99 and I have just the reflectors.

 

03 Lariat and have the lights. I think like captchas said it is model dependent. The xlt and lariat have them xl's dont.

 

Nope, my 03' XLT sport didn't have them when I bought it. It does now though!

 

My '06 F-250 SD has just the reflectors too. If you want a light around that area - there are running-boards/side steps you can buy that have the lights that come on when you open the door (Westin Step Board).

 

2001 XLT, has the lights in the doors, glovebox, etc, but NO underhood blanket.

my 05 SuperDuty came the same way. So i went to the parts store and bought the light sockets and light bulbs and installed them myself..total cost was like $6 ..now they light up red when i open the door/s.

 

Is the wiring already in the door (for XL models)?

 

So the wires was already there? Did you have to splice or did they just hook up?

 

My 02 Superduty V10 XLT has them....not sure if the PO put them in or what (He had it a year then went PSD)

 

On my 2000 Lariat, the front doors have both a light and reflector side by side. The rear doors only have reflectors. I do have a glove box light and hood blanket.

At least all you guys w/ newer trucks get those cool upfitter switches, and I'm jealous of those.

Some trucks have the wires already run for the door lights, and you just have to add a bulb socket and bulb. Others have nothing but a hole in the door, and you have to set up everything from scratch.
