37 1/2 Ton she is bone stock, with 221 Flathead, 3 speed, 3.78 Diff. Right of the Western Prarie Wheat Fields. We changed most of the drive line as it was a 4 speed Truck, with 4.26 Diff. and a really beefed up supension.
It has be converted to the more user friendly driver type, and I have kept the Cable Brake System.

Red face Very happy (and blinded by the shiny bits)

today. Just got back from the Chromers with half my bits. They look spectacular, will look even better when I put them back on tonight! Sitting here waiting for my new pulleys to arrive. It surely feels like christmas for me!!

Red face Almost there,

Looks like tomorrow is the day. Hopefully, as long as all goes to plan. We have had a very productive couple of days. Front went on yesterday after a fresh coat of white paint on the inner guards. Last of the wiring done today, along with fuel line, radiator hose, oogah horn connected, transmission lines, most of the exhaust. Tomorrows plan of attack removing raising blocks to even body height, if need be taking out a couple of leaf springs, drive shaft back in, bleed brakes, remainder of exhausts, last three chrome grill pieces and tray. Will be updating my gallery tonight so check out the progress.

My Dad and I have a 46 1/2 ton with a 48 box. Original rebuilt flat head 8 and 3 speed tranny. We've had it since 1987 but it sat in the shed for years and this summer we finally got busy with the rebuild. Have some suspension work to go yet and finish the interior but it's coming along nicely. I've been checking the site for while now and would like to say thanks for all the great info. Will work on a gallery because I know you all like pic's as much as do.

Hey. I have a 1941 Fire Truck. It has original tires, paint (rather faded... but I like it), a small tear in the front left fender, and 7,500 miles. It has spent less than 6 months outside. My plans are to get it running and use it to haul lumber to the building site for our new house. Hopefull I'll even take a trip to Louisville this year for the NSRA 2007 Nats!

1945 1/2 ton,

Restoring to stock with NOS where possible. Drive line and rolling chassis with 100 HP V-8 rebuilt and painted. Cab, doors and front clip stripped and painted. I still have a lot to do. So far my best NOS find as been runningboards, which I powder coated. This truck was found in a shed in the Colo Rocky Mountains.

46 1/2 ton...MII clip,9 inch rear. Stock 91 302 carbureted.. c4 for now, hope to do the aod upgrade in the next year or so. No power brakes, but it does have p/s and air. Last year, on the way back from a long weekend at the coonass redneck nationals, ran about 85 most of the way, with the air on & still got over 23 mpg. Not bad for a truck with the aerodynamics of a brick

Red face Happy New year

to you all (even though 3rd of the way in). Have not updated any photos or posted any replies as have been way too busy making the most of the great weather and driving my baby. Still waiting for my flames, will be done in two weeks when my painter gets back from USA. Cant wait. Had a delema with the oak deck as went mouldy just before big car show, so it took up residence on my dinning and coffee tables for about six days while I sanded and recoated with marine polyurethane. Looks great now, still have a few more coats to do but that can wait until winter. Will keep gallery updated as things progress.

What is That

I am almost afraid to talk about my latest. 46/47 ford jailbar. On camaro clip, with 350 motor and camaro rear end. also has tilt.(Hey I bought it that way) My plans call for a drop in hight of cab, lowering of frame and shortning of bed. would like 40 front clip also.

Talking 1947 COE Ford

Just purchased this sweet ride and I'm still waiting to wake-up from the dream.

The rig is an original driver (with 4 speed trans, 2 speed rear, flathead V8), and I'm not sure just what my plans will include. For right now I'm trying to gather as much information as possible.

I stumbled across this website late one night and I think it will prove to be of great assistance in the future of this project. Until then I'm go'na drive this baby with a case of Perma Grin.....

on my 47, i was going to drop a 302 in it, but i think i will rebuild the flatty v8,bored 90 over with a double duece or a 4bbl. follow it with a c4 auto and a 9" rear. then power front disc brakes, a custom interior, and paint. then i will use it as my work truck in my landscaping business.

Bubble, keep on driving her, and keep that grin going. Nothing like being able to drive your project while working on it.

Redwood, great to see you keeping that flatty and putting the truck back to work. Your '47 will make for great advertising and helps you stick out from the sea of late models that 99.9% of contractors use.

I know this is '46 and older, but the '47 is so close...

I'm going to pick up a '47 in a couple of weekends from my brother who started to do some work on it but stopped. Just as well, too, cuz he really lacked direction when he started and it's a real mess. The body is in pretty bad shape, so I will probably get rid of the fenders, hood, and grill. The bed isn't in great shape either, IIRC. But the cab is mostly straight, so I want to convert it to a COE. Not necessarily a replica of the real thing, but a COE, nonetheless. I'll be posting pics as I get them. On that note, if anybody has any pics from under the hood, or anywhere for that matter, of a '47 or older COE, I'd be much abliged if I could get a copy. Anything to help me plan this thing out.

Dave
