Thanks for the homecoming welcome . it is good to be back in the NW. I don't have a bed for her, I also heard that the 1 ton beds are larger than 1/2 and 3/4 beds. thought about making a stake bed to help keep the cost down.

The one ton pickup beds are 8' long. I bought a later model bed (1951)that I need to repair and modify and then find fenders and running boards for. I am a lifetime career woodworker. I have a lot of wood here and a sawmill. I'd be happy to provide all the wood you'd need along with a set of factory stakebed style running boards in trade for your pickup style running boards. Just don't cut those long running boards short.

I appreciate the offer but I was thinking about doing something like this with my wife's truck and long running boards. I know its not stock but looks good.

that is unless I can find a stock bed and fenders before I fire up my welder?

That does look nice. I know how to make the long one ton running boards. I had to make some for my tonner panel truck, so I can do it again. Yours would have been more termite resistant, but my version is pretty rust-proof!

34 Ford pu

Pretty much have all the parts I need to start putting it back together except for the radiator, windshield frame, and the rear fenders.

Putting a 312 Y-block in it with either a 3-speed+1 manual overdrive trans,or a FOM. Engine has E-Bird dual quads and what used to be called a 3/4 cam.

Body is staying stock except for a dropped front axle and Hondarus Maroon cab, bed, and hood, and black fenders and running boards.

Using 49 Lincoln gauge clusters and speedo in it.

Strictly a driver, and plan on driving it often when I am not driving my 51 Ford club coupe or the weather is nasty and I am driving modern crap.

I just fell into a barn find with a '42 1 1/2 ton. I want to pull it apart and put it back the same as a stake bed. I am not finding much information about that particular truck though. I am sure the rear axle would need to be modified to make it a driver above 50 mph and I would like to upgrade the brakes for safety. Since it does not have a bed, I do need a stake bed and need to know what fits this truck. Right now it is still buried in the barn. See photos on profile. Flat head V8 and trans would surely need some work. Were does one start to locate information on this truck?

Lol, yes, but that was an older photo with it high enough to get chassis out, still on a foundation, just way closer to the ground...
