Engine VIN or engine number location

Hi folks!

A friend that I made through internet has an F150 with 4.2 V6. He´s trying to find the engine VIN or engine number without luck.

Anyone can tell me where is located that stamped number onthe engine block?

hi, the vin number on my truck is found by looking at the lower of the front windscreen, from the outside of the truck. i had to use a light to be able to read it clearly. hope this helps. bokker.

Yes, that's where it is.
It's inside the cab, on a plate mounted to the top of the dash. You have to look thru windshield to see it.

I think he may be confusing VIN with block casting numbers

Sprry, but Im´m talking about the engine number, not the code no the VIN. I hve a pair of 302, it has a plain area (or plain boss, don´t know the correct term in english) to identify that block.

V6 has some similar area where some numbers on fabrication plant could be stamped?
