OK guys. Sorry the language filters didn't work very well in this thread. If I had edit authority here I would remove the entire thread. Admin or super mods will be along shortly to handle this.

Ricer Fly by Story:
LOL, I just LOVE that term.
OK, When I had my F350 CC DRW with nothing more than an Edge programmer, I TOTALLY took out a "souped up" Honda Civic that was testing me at every light. The speed limit was 45 in town. On the third and final attemt by him to "dust" me, he decides to do a fly-by. Needless to say, I will NEVER go more than 10 over the speed limit anywhere. So I blow his doors off up to about 55 and, butthurt by being beat by a dam school bus, he decides to keep going, my wife was in the car with me too and even she says: "What a ***!!"
Anyhow, about a half block later a cop car goes flying by me and pulls the kid over. My wife and I waved to him as we passed. >
DODGE vs. FORD:
OK, of all the diesel engines, it is my understanding that the PowerStroke is the least powerful after full mods etc. My take on this:
1. Im never going to "Race" my truck on a track. I don't need 1000+ HP
2. Fords have the nicest interiors and are way more heavy duty stock to stock over the chevy and dodges.
3. Dodge, have you SEEN their interiors? Or driven a 2 yr old one? JUNK!
4. Stock Chevies take about $3000 of Wheels, Tires and suspension work just to be up to a Ford stock.

Not according to last years DHRA standings. The only Ford I find when making a quick scan of the final national standings is powered by a Cummin's 12v not a 6.0 Powerstroke.
Not trying to start trouble, but not finding any validiation of "6-ohhhhs whomp up on the competion". Personally I'd like to see Fords being competative instead of being the exception.

Hopefully the new 6.4L will be full of potential and brings some good numbers to the PSD. Should with the common rail setup, once the tuners can figure it out. Might even end up with something like EFI Live for the Dmax's.

Yeah, it's good to see the 7.3 putting out better numbers all the time. You're at about 550 or so, right Luke? Thug's about 560, blowby is already at 600, dockboy, WOP, Elmo, etc...
Still, it's depressing to see guys take a dmax or common rail cummins, toss on a $700 programmer, and be at 500hp.

I've been to a couple of dyno meets and have yet to see many, if any, dodges over 400hp, and NONE on tuning alone. Granted they make MASSIVE torque, but not the HP. The only Dmax I saw was Eric Merchant who did around 500 or so, and yes the Dmax's are fast, but I disagree about 500hp on programming alone. I'd be interested in seeing $'s vs. HP gains on the dodges, though, if you can provide the information where to go look.

Any dmax can make 500hp on programming alone. The most common way is with EFI Live. Plent of dmax vendors selling tunes that grant 500hp, easy.
That's strange about the dyno events... usually the bigger ones are 40+ dodges, a few dmaxes, and a few PSDs. A good majority of the dodges are 400+, many 500+, a few 600, 700, etc. (most of these #2 only).
This is from Smokin in the Smokies this past fall (lots of Fords turned up to this one, as DP-Tuner is one of the main sponsors):
Maddog (Richard Madsen) is at 1080 hp on #2 only in his 12 valve.
Quite a few dmaxs at 650+hp #2 only, bunch of common rail cummins at 700+hp #2 only.
It's like saying tuning on a 7.3 gets you 300, on a 6.0 420+.... same thing on a dmax, 500... it's just a given... everyone with EFI live and the hot tune, or with other programmers, they're all at 500hp on just tuning.
Think we'll see some PSDs jump up there in the power with the new 6.4. It'll finally have the same technology as the dmax and current cummins (common rail). Bet we'll be seeing bigger and bigger numbers from everyone as we go.
