I had a heck of a time finding a donor motor but found two in Florida. It turned out that butt-ugly block in the truck/photos was a Heavy Duty 292. The block was in good shape and I took the crank from one of the other motors and had the machine shop work their magic. I got the missing accessories like the heads, exhaust manifolds, etc off of donor #2. I need to get some photos of the engine that is shown. You could't believe how nice that engine looks now. I have deviated from the VIN and am in the process of converting the 2 barrel to a 4 barrel.
The only detail that I need to resolve is the painter did a fabulous job but just painted the master cylinder in place. So just because I am an A type (read ****) personality, I am going to pull the old master off and paint the firewall under it.
Its coming along pretty well. The bed is painted with the same colors. The fenders and everything below the bedline is the turqoise and the rest of the bed is the colonial white. I have a new oak bed and am ready to order the pre-drilled polished bed strips for the bed.
