Driveshaft Seals

Boy, I just can't find these things being 4000 miles away from a Napa store or other parts books... and I'm trying to find them fast so that a person traveling in a couple of days can bring them down for me.

There are 2 seals that need replacing on the driveshaft of my 1996 F250 4WD. I had new u-joints brought down but I can't even find these seals listed in my manual. There is a part # 4859 that is shown but it is a dust cover / drive pinion oil seal deflector, depending if I read from page 05-00-4 or 05-01-4, but they are quite a bit smaller than what I need. The ones I need are about the diameter of the driveshaft itself.

I got on the Motorcraft website but it wasn't any help at all. I'm going to keep searching, but can someone give me the part # / proper name and/or what other sites can I look at that can give me the exploded view or something to save me from having to bug you all over things not complicated?
Grateful for any help offered.

Dan

Where exactly are these seals located? The only seal that I'm aware of is the dust shield behind the pinion flange.

The common name is a pinion seal. You need to identify the axle in your truck. Probably a 10.25 Sterling. If so you need a Timken #4278. They are available a Autozone or most part stores. About 10$.
