Gas pedal options

Hi guys, I have a '56 f100 and am trying to figure out the best gas pedal. Lokar reccomends their Eliminator for my situation but I like the firewall mounted pedal better, it just seems neater. Being from Australia, I can't get to see one before I buy so hence this post. I like the Lokar stuff but just need to get some more "expert" advice from the forum before I decide. Any advice or tips will be appreciated. Cheers.

For my '53, I'm using Lokar's chromed spoon pedal (#SPO-6070) and their universal throttle cable, (#TC-1000U). I mounted the pedal on the firewall, and it works just fine.

We've got the lokar chromes spoon as well on our 50f1, mounted on the firewall and is good. I just hate the small spoon, its too small for my feet

Thanks for the replies. The one I like is the Billet with rubber inserts #BAG-6001 or chrome SG-6007 and match it up with the matching brake pedal & dimmer cover. If the spoon stye works these assemblies should work too I imagine. What do you think?

I have asked the tech guys at Lokar why they reccomend the Eliminator but haven't heard back yet.

I have the billet with rubber inserts and matching brake pedal in my 56. Love it.

I had the spoon pedal first, and it really bothered my foot on long rides.

That sounds great. This might sound dumb question but having not having seen these pedals I just need to know: Do they just mount to the firewall, with the cable connected to the top lever, hole through F/W and cable a dirsct pull on carb?

Thanks for your help.

I used the Lokar Eliminator pedal on my 56 and it was a clean, easy installation. All you see on the firewall side is the cable coming up to the carb. I'm using it again on another project. Just cut a small rectangular hole, drill four holes and it's done. Also is adjustable for angle.

aussie1 - What you said. Yes, that's what the billet pedal is like. The firewall-mounted lever is identical between the two pedal styles. Whe I changed over from the spoon to the billet, I only swapped the pedal. Everything else stayed the same.

They provide an adjustable connector for thru the FW, and a cut to fit braided cover to the carb.. then the inner cable connects to the pedal and the carb bracket.. this is cut to fit as well, with a little connector to slip on and tighten..

see my gallery for the cab side at least .. for a look at the pedals.. no pics of the cable hookup
