5 star cab 51 f1
Here's what I remember, the vent windows had a SS channel running down the side, the vent window lock things had a button on them, a "magic air" with the vents that go all the way to the front, lock on the glove box, locks on both doors (right below the handle), the seat had the rubberized horse hair stuff (forgot the name) that is black sitting on top of the springs, the back of the cab had gunk all over it (that's rubberized insulation), had two sun visors, the SS windsheild trim, the doors have a channel running along the edges on the inside to hold the upulstry(sp?), a metal thing covering the protrusion where the door handle and window crank are, the door and window crank shafts are slightly longer, the piece covering the shaft on the handles are SS not rubber, the duel horns, and I beleive that the ash tray had a v looking thing on it (but I'm not sure about that one).

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Nov-02 AT 01:31 PM (EST)]Oops, forgot the hood trim, they have three bars instead of one to make it simple, but if the trims not on you can tell by the holes in the side of the hood, the regular model had only one row with the '52 having two slot holes towards the front for the round emblem.
To make a gallery, go to "User Gallerey" on the tool bar, then in the top corner of the page there is a link that says "manage/create" go there. Then the rest should be pretty simple, but the pictures have to be little, unlike the one's that can be zoomed in so much you can read the numbers on the wires.
P.S. Weren't they all "Five Star" cabs and that the upper model was called "Five Star DeLuxe" model, I think that's how it was, anyone know for sure?

THe reg. cabs were considered "5 Star" cabs and "5 Star Extra" was the deluxe cabs. I have a sales brochure here from 51 and the "5 star extra" items it lists are the following: Foam rubber padding in seat, Headliner with 1-1/2 inch glass wool insulating pad, sound deadening on doors, floor and rear cab panels, chrome windshield moulding, vent window frames and divider bar. Silver finish (argent) grille, 2 tone seat upholstery, customized door and body panel trim, chrome door hardware escutchions. 2 adj. sun visors, grip type arm rests, cigar lighter, 2 door locks, glove box lock, dome light with auto door switches, twin horns.

My '51 is a Five Star-Extra. There are a couple of pictures in my gallery, although not very good ones.
You might want to check out http://www.bonusbuilt.com/. An excellent site dedicated to '48-'52 Ford Trucks which were refered to as "Bonusbuilt."
"In 51 Ford made some changes to it's truck line...In this year Ford began the tradition of offering different cab options. You could buy the standard cab (called 5 star) or the "5 Star Extra" deluxe model. The 5 Star package contained many features found on 48-50 trucks (3 way ventilation, adjustable seat, dual windshield wipers, ash tray, glove box, driver's side sun visor). The 5 Star Extra cab came with foam padding on the seat, insulation on the back of the headliner, sound deadener on the doors, 2 tone upholstery, 2 sun visors, locks on each door, a dome light, and a
locking glovebox. From the outside you could tell a 5 Star Extra by the extra chrome bars on the side of the hood, chrome trim around the windshield, and the grille (painted silver)."
