Congrats Brian! Good luck to you both. It's an exciting time and I'm sure ya'll will enjoy having the little ones running around the house. Kids are awesome and worth it. They really do completely change your life; for the better. Good thing you've got a stable full of Ford trucks to share with him/her. LOL.

Congratulations! I remember the birth of my first. Seems like yesterday, tho it's been 24 years. Hope you can function with little/no sleep for about a year!

Congrats! I still remember when my wife gave me a card saying "Congrats Daddy!"

My heart dropped to my feet and the smile was glued to my face. 13 years later, I still don't regret it...although a teenage daughter is "lots" of fun!

Wink Scary Things

These are but a few of my favorite scary things...

Those minutes that feel like an eternity before you hear your son or daughter cry for the first time.
Discovering just how tightly your wife grips your hand- or throat- whilst in the throes of labour...
Waking up just before the inevitable outcome of sleeping while standing.
Diapers. Need I elucidate further?
Their first high fever.
Colic. It's not a dog like "Lassie". It's something else altogether!!!
Finding out that white stuff in the odd little bottle was not for coffee...
Diapers. Need I elucidate further?
Wondering if you actually got all those cabinet locks and outlet covers installed.
Teething. Oh, the joy. And the drool.
Their first step out of your reach...
Other people's driving, especially when you have your child with you.
Those hard soled little shoes they wear. And how for a man it hurts when you get stomped in just the wrong place while they are standing on your lap.
The thought that the word "NO!" is only one syllable and easily screamed.
Potty Training. 'Nuff said. Nyet, comrade?
Having the thought cross your mind- can I actually DO THIS?!?
Monsters in the closet. And under the bed.
Discovering how quickly they learn- and repeat at the darndest times- those "colorful metaphors" YOU let fly before you can catch yourself...
The first day of school- applies to both parents and child.
Other people's kids- whatta bunch of BRATS!!!
How much stuff they need for school...yikes!
Dang, they grow sooooo fast... don't they?
If a girl, the words "boyfriend" and "date"- in the same sentence!!!
If a boy, the word "motorcycle"- in ANY sentence!!!
Actually getting a dial tone when you pick up your phone.
"Dad- can I borrow the car?"
"Uhh, well, it got wrecked..."
The thought of them ACTUALLY getting that tattoo or piercing...
Changes of hair color to purple or green or a new Mohawk style sprayed into a fin...
Waiting until they arrive home safely from the Senior Prom.
The thought of that long drive to the college they're attending...
The thought of how empty their room, and your heart, will feel when they leave home that first time...
Answering the question "Who gives this woman in marriage" with the dryest mouth you've EVER had, and your heart in your throat...
Hearing your son tell you right before the wedding- "Dad, I'm gonna be like you!"
Those minutes that feel like an eternity before you hear your grandson or granddaughter cry for the first time...
Realizing just how fragile and precious life really is to begin with? Or end with?

May God bless you both richly, not only today, or tomorrow, but for always.

Mark
