Smile 2005 F-150 front seat question

First post about a 2005 F-150....I have an eye on a really good deal on a 2005 F-150 supercrew only thing is the front seat...It has captains chairs with center console, power drivers side seat..I have 4 kids so I need seating for 6...Can I get a 60/40 flip down console with power drivers side to swap out the catians chairs and console??? Will it bolt up?? Thanks for any input...Dale

I have a '05 supercrew FX4, Black w/grey interior. It has the 60/40 seating like your are talking about. There is a flip down console between the two front seats. However, they are not powered.

You could, but a lot of work and not worth it. Your better off finding a truck without the flow-through console. You'd have to change out your dash as well, unless you don't care having the open hole where the console use to be..
There are a lot of people that would love to swap out with you though. I've seen a few people do the swap on one of the "other sites".

xmfx4ic, this truck is column shift so would'nt be easier than the full console floor shift? It is just an XLT and I am under the impression that just the Lariat has floor shift along with some FX4's..Is that correct? Thanks for the help

If you remove the xlt console(4bolts) you can replace it with the "20" section from a 40-20-40 seat set up. The captians chairs are the same as the 40 sections. I replaced my 20 section with an xlt console( I needed more storage).I later sold the seat on ebay. The 20 has a small flipdown console built in.Alot of people would love to get a hold of your xlt console if you decide to sell it.

I'm sorry, I was thinking you had the floor shifter. What Brilac said is correct.

I have the 40/20/40 seat in my 05 screw and hate the center counsole. You have to push a button on the right side of the counsole to get it to flip up or down. It really sucks. It's hard to get to and cumbersome. Ford really jacked this off by doing this. I like the one in my 95 F-150 better. You just flip it up or down. JMO.

That's right man and I tell you something else. The 20 seat is useless unless it's a 9 year old sitting in it, which I know is illegal. 6 of us went to the drive in and no one could sit in the middle because it is too high. An adult will literally hit the roof and it's uncomfortable as hell. The new 04's and on have terrible passenger and driver seats as well. I've had mine altered 4 times and finally got them half way decent. I've had these seat's apart and there is a solid metal pan about half way from the front which limit's the foam travel and makes it hard as a rock. Everything else about the truck is good, the seat's suck.

I would like to find a headrest that's about half as tall as the stock ones. They're always in the way.
